Sleepless Night, Thank You Pain!

My period started earlier this month, I think it’s because of too much fish in my diet. It’s down from 27 days cycle on Nov-Dec 2017 and 28 days on Dec 2017- Jan 2018 to 24 days on Jan-Feb 2018. Darn fish! 😡

Pain wise, it’s  about the same as my last period. Until yesterday (Day 10). Well, it’s my own mistake, I ate sambal (Indonesian traditional spicy salsa-like sauce) with my dinner because I barely feel pain all day (cocky!). I had to learn the hard way, again! 😰

I stayed up late to make a big batch of fruits and veggies juice. Around 11:30 PM I felt cramps on my right lower abdomen, I took 1x500mg valerian root capsule (It works as muscle relaxer) I thought it will help to relieve the pain, but I was wrong. When I finished my juice around 00:50 AM, my pain escalated so fast. I had rectum pain (3-4/10), right lower abdomen pain (2-3/10), and lower back pain (2-3/10). Around 1 AM I took Serrapeptase+Nattokinase, it usually helps to relieve the pain that was not that severe, but the thing was it continues for hours, I couldn’t sleep at all. I cried because I felt frustrated, none of my medicine worked. At 3:50 AM I made a coriander+ginger decoction, I felt slightly better around 5 AM. I took diclofenac+pantoprazole around 6 AM. I feel much better one hour later. It’s official, I didn’t sleep at all last night! It’s the first time in my life it happens. 😭

I need to stop doing stupid things that hurt me >_<

Endo Diet Phase 1: Day 5

Happy Valentines Day!

My husband and I  went to Walmart this evening. We found these Chocolate truffles on sale, we grab a box.

I normally don’t crave for chocolate so much, but today I really want to eat it. But if I eat it I will ruin my Phase 1 Endo Diet 😣 Well, it’s kinda ruined since I eat too much fish (which legally allowed in the list but my body sensitive to it!). It gives me lower back and lower abdomen pain until now. I was like, f**k it! I’m already in pain, why can’t I eat the chocolate then?

I just took Diclofenac and Pantoprazole to relieve the pain. I don’t want to feel anything, I need to make cat food for my lovely cat tonight, I don’t need the pain to ruin it!

Anyways, for today’s review: I only eat veggies today. I felt fatigued all day, maybe because I don’t have enough calories for my body. I couldn’t even finish my morning yoga because I felt so weak. I started to feel pain when I walk from my apartment to Walmart, the fish effect from yesterday stays. That sucks…

Maybe I shouldn’t do Phase 1 for a month, considering I can’t eat meat every day and I can’t eat legumes or grains on Phase 1. Where can I get my calories and protein from? I’m thinking to go to Phase 2 immediately to get my non-meat protein source. I will make the decision tomorrow.

Update:

I ate 9 pcs of the chocolate truffles, I made sure that I wouldn’t  have inflammation by taking 2 turmeric+ginger capsules! LOL… Thank God it works!

I decided to go on Endo Diet Phase 2 so I can eat some legumes, grains, nuts, and seeds. I will eat meat (fish and/or eggs) only once a week (max), just like before. I hope it works!

Endo Diet Phase 1: Day 4

I’m in trouble. My concern about eating too much fish will cause me pain came true. I ate tilapia fish for lunch and an hour later I felt lower back discomfort and I feel dullness on my lower abdomen. The discomfort stays in the evening. It got worse after I ate salmon for dinner >_<

I drank coriander ginger decoction around 10 pm, it helped to relieve the pain but it’s not completely gone. So I decided to take diclofenac and pantoprazole at 11:30 pm to make sure I can get a good night sleep tonight.

So, from these last 4 days observations, I can conclude that I cannot eat too much fish. Once a week was normally fine for me, I might do the same intensity to avoid the pain. Now I have a real problem, how to maintain my weight without daily meat intake nor nuts and beans for the next 2 months? I guess the answer is to eat lots of allowed vegetables for phase 1. Seriously, that will be lots and lots of veggies!!!

I’m willing to try to eat organic meat as a protein source but I don’t want to do it this week. Next week I will have my period, and if I started to eat organic chicken this week and my body also sensitive to organic chicken meat. I will have a very painful period next week! I don’t want to take that chance…

Endo Diet Phase 1: Day 2&3

PS: this post contains affiliate links, thank you for your support!

Day 2

  • Weight: still the same
  • Fluid: water, lemon water
  • Breakfast: banana, carrot+ginger juice
  • Lunch: baked carrot, zucchini, chicken liver and fish — I felt lower abdomen discomfort not long after that. I think it’s the chicken liver (halal, not organic) and fish (leftovers from last night – I ordered from Indian restaurant, I didn’t know what kind of fish it was)
  • Snack: carrot+ginger juice
  • Dinner: baked salmon, carrot, zucchini — no discomfort or pain all night
  • Exercise: yoga

Day 2 was pretty easy, no cravings whatsoever.

Day 3

  • Weight: still the same
  • Fluid: water, lemon water, chamomile+osmanthus tea
  • Fruits: banana
  • Breakfast: — I missed my breakfast >_<
  • Lunch: Grilled zucchini, squash, and arugula
  • Dinner: garlicky spinach and baked cod
  • Snack: lemon filled olives, banana
  • Exercise: yoga, walking

I craved brownies and green tea latte all day. It’s hard when you see your husband eat brownies and you can’t have it >_<

I took a bite of beef patty from my husband’s plate at lunch to see how’s my body react, well… one bite was too little, no reaction! LOL

Thoughts

~ I still feel worried that I eat too much fish (it’s 4 days in a row now!) and causes me more pain on my next period (about a week for now). I usually eat non-plant based food (salmon sushi) once a week only. Again, I have no proper protein source other than meats for now. I guess I can eat bok choy or broccoli, but I will need to eat a bunch of it to keep my current weight!

~ It’s difficult to get organic chicken at a local groceries store. I can order it online from Taobao, but the price is quite expensive and so far I can only buy the whole chicken. I need to search harder…

~ The book‘s diet plan sample mentioned having bone marrow broth as a snack. I went to the biggest groceries store in Nanjing to buy cow’s bone marrow, it has it but in the packaging didn’t say that it’s from an organic farm or a grass-fed cow. So, I didn’t buy it. I’m still thinking what snack options I can get.
