I’m planning to do 3 days juice fasting start from today to detoxing my body. Yes, I failed again and again with my Endo/Adeno diet, but I’m not giving up yet. I’m restarting today and I hope it will go well.
2:07 PM – I’m struggling with hunger. I can’t concentrate doing anything because my stomach keeps growling. I drank 1 L carrot juice so far, wish me luck!
It’s been a month since my last update on this blog, I think I have a good news to share. I reached the 30th day of my monthly cycle. It’s a miracle! I have never reached Day 30 of my cycle these last 5 years!
As I mentioned before on my old post, I started to develop Adenomyosis symptoms when I moved to China in 2013. Since then, my cycles had shortened from 28-30 days cycle to 23-25 days. It’s tiring when you have menstruated most of the time and you have to feel the pain on that time.
So, let’s talk about what’s going on these last 30 days
Less Pain, Yay!
I have more pain-free days compare to my last cycle. Including this morning, I have 10 pain-free days compare to 3 pain-free days on my last cycle.
Last cycle: 24 days
Current cycle: 30 days and still counting
I eat better this cycle, more greens, orange, and red vegetable.
Completely cut off dairy, wheat, eggs, and all meats except fish
Sugar: almost cut off completely, I only take a little sugar from fruit and raw honey (1tsp per day)
I drink plenty of fluid: in average 1.3L-2L of lemon water every day + 0.5L plain water + 0.7L of herbal teas (raspberry leaf tea + Yogi’s women moon cycle/kava/other herbal teas)
A limited amount of fruits. I’m avoiding fruits that taste too sweet for me, such as oranges. Bananas (1pc/day), mangoes(1 small-medium), pineapple(the max is quarter of the fruit), and apple(1 small-medium) are fine. Any fruit that not too sweet is fine.
Tempeh is a NO NO for me. I ate 3 small slices of Tempeh as a test for food sensitivity 2 weeks ago, 30 minutes later I had cramps, lower back pain, and rectum pain. FYI, I’m from Indonesia, for Indonesian, Tempeh is one of the main food that common people eat every day. I really missed to eat it. I have been avoiding to eat it these last 2 years because it made of fermented soy. I read that the oestrogen level is lower when a soy product is fermented that’s why I gave it a try again. The answer was, my body is too sensitive to any kind of soy product including the fermented product. This reality made me feel very sad.
Well, I didn’t do very well with the exercise effort. I could only do 2-3 times of yoga/walk in a week. I will do better, promise.
I have more energy these last few weeks, I think the supplements regime started to show the result! Yay!
I increased my Serrapeptase dosage from 3×40,000IU to 6×40,000IU per day. The first week after I increased the dosage something happened to my body. My stomach swelled so big and it felt really hard when I touched it, almost like a stone! I also felt pain in my both ovaries (felt like someone squeezed my ovaries really hard!) and also my rectum (squeezed and stabbed pain). These pain last for about a week, but the swelled belly last for about 10 days. I’m not sure it was a good sign that Serrapeptase fighting the Endometrioma/Adenomyosis/Fibroid or something else. I wouldn’t know until I have my next sonogram.
Btw, I lost my weight again, mostly the fat from my stomach. Now I can see and feel with my hands how swollen my uterus is and how swollen my ovaries are, it’s amazing and scary at the same time. You can feel it there, your enemies, laughing… hijacking your body, ready to twist your ovaries at any time…
I started taking Spirulina 11 days ago. The one that I bought is 500mg tablets Organic Spirulina from Healthy Origins. I started with 1 tab x 2 per day and now I’m on 2 tabs x 3 per day. The first day of taking Spirulina I felt feverish, I read it’s a normal reaction for some people because it’s high in protein content that increases metabolism which may elevate the body temperature. I also have the same reaction on the day I increased the dosage to 2 tab x 3 per day.
Spirulina has so many benefits for our body, but the benefits that really caught my attention are it regulates the menstrual cycle, relieve pre-menstrual syndromes, support immune system, and support the growth of healthy bacteria in our guts. These benefits are essential for people like me, who is living with Adenomyosis, Endometriosis, and Fibroid.
I’m quite sure that Spirulina is of the causes that I have a longer cycle this month, but to prove my theory, I have to wait until few more cycles to see whether I still have longer cycles.
So far my effort has shown a good result related to pain. It’s a baby step, but I know I can do this. For the whole information of my efforts since last month, you can check it here
I still have a long way ahead of me, I’m not sure whether all of these efforts will get rid of my fibroid and endometriomas, or shrink my uterus because of the damaged that caused by Adeno. We will see in few months! Meanwhile… I feel grateful because I have less pain and I have more energy.

Welcome Back, Pain!
I will have my period in few days. I started to have light lower abdomen pain and rectum pain (my greatest enemy!) four days ago, it was day 20 of my cycle. The last time I felt no pain at all was on day 17 of my cycle, so I had only 3 days of pain-free days this month, LOL! Yes, I will just laugh at my ironic life!
Yesterday I had the pain all day. I made 1L of raspberry leaf tea to be drunk all day, it helps to relieve the pain but it didn’t get rid of it completely. In the evening I just remember that I bought a new “weapon” for this battle, it’s called Cramp Bark. As its name indicated, it works to relieve cramps. I read that it works well for menstrual cramps.
I mixed 17 drops of Cramp Bark with 1 cup of warm water and drank it, 30 minutes later the pain started to decrease. I also drank raspberry leaf tea to support the Cramp Bark. Around 10 PM I felt no pain at all. Yay!
This morning I felt no pain at all when I woke up, but I know I will have pain sometimes later today. So I decided to prepare for the worst. I made a liter of tea made of raspberry leaf and Yogi’s Moon Cycle tea and a cup of Cramp Bark tea.
I started to have light lower abdomen pain and rectum pain again in the afternoon, 20 drops of cramp bark seem to work better but it’s only last for 3 hours for me. I’m not sure how will it handle the medium/high pain level, I guess we will know soon! The positive thing about it is, it doesn’t irritate my stomach at all. It’s a very important point for me! My painkillers have been more irritating my stomach lately >_<
Food Sensitivity Test
According to “Endometriosis: A Key to Healing and Fertility Through Nutrition” book by Dian Shepperson Mills, MA, and Michael Vernon Ph.D. HCLD, some people are sensitive to sugar, egg, yeast, wheat/gluten, and dairy. This food might cause bloating, pain, diarrhea, indigestion, sinus and catarrh problem, and subfertility.
For the last couple weeks, I have been doing experiments on my self to test how sensitive is my body to certain food. It was quite painful experiments because every time I found out that my body sensitive to certain food, I had to feel pain >_<
So far I found out that I am sensitive to:
sugar: bloating, pain
egg (including organic egg): inflammation, pain
meats (except a small amount of fish, twice a week is fine): inflammation, pain
gluten (yes, all grains that contain gluten): bloating, pain
dairy (all dairy products from cows, including organic products): bloating, inflammation, pain.
I haven’t checked about non-cow dairy products and yeast products. I will experiment with goat based dairy after this menstrual cycle but for yeast, I might have just avoided it.
I started a whole new regimen a month and a half ago. It consists of supplements support, stress management, exercise, diet change, and lifestyle change. It’s mostly based on Dr. Andrew S. Cook, MD, FACOG and Danielle Cook, MS, RD, CDE book, The Endometriosis Health & Diet Program: Get Your Life Back. Let’s talk about it!
I follow the Sample Endo Supplement Program from Dr. Andrew Cook’s book (page 133) and I added Serrapeptase, Nattokinase, and Spirulina into the mix. The book says that we need to take one supplement at a time and adding a new one every 5 to 7 days to test tolerance. And that’s what I did!
Here’s my daily supplement regimen, the intake timing is based on the best time to take it (I googled it for hours!). When I chose the supplements, I tried to find the one that as natural as possible, with no fillers, additives, coloring, yeast, soy, dairy, gluten, and organic.
As per April 5, 2018 – I haven’t started to take probiotic, vitamin D (currently have 400IU of D-3 in my cod liver oil and 400IU in my multivitamin), and spirulina.

After breakfast: Multivitamin, Omega-3, Pycnogenol, Curcumin, Vitamin D

30 minutes before dinner: Serrapeptase, Nattokinase, NAC
After dinner: Pycnogenol, Curcumin, Magnesium
2 hours before bed: DIM, Melatonin, Probiotic
NO: egg, dairy, gluten, sugar, yeast
A little: fish
YES: fruits, veggies, grains (rice, millet, corn, quinoa, buckwheat), healthy fats (olive oil for salad dressing/to be taken cold, coconut oil for cooking, avocado oil for cooking, ghee for cooking but I’m avoiding it for now), beans, pulses.
No more cheats start from April!
Aim to drink, on average, half of your body weight (in pounds) of any non-caffeinated beverage (preferably water) in ounces. ie, if you weight 110 pounds (50kg), you should drink at least 55 ounces (1.6L) of fluid daily.
Herbal tea: raspberry leaf tea, Yogi Women Moon Cycle
Deep belly breathing
Guided meditation: I listen to it every night before bed, my favorite is Michael Sealey’s channel on Youtube. You can check it here
Target: 7-9 hours daily
Diclofenac + Pantoprazole/Domperidone or Ibuprofen
It will take at least 3 months for the whole regimen to work. I will give you update later! Please pray for me that all of these regimens will work, I really don’t want to have surgery to get rid of the endometriomas _/||\_
It has been a year since I decided to eat clean as part of my efforts healing from Adenomyosis. I keep records of my food intakes but never really make assessments whether I follow Endo Diet properly.
Couple days ago I had a chat with my doctor regarding my current condition. My pain has been lessened (which is great!), but she seemed concerned about my diet. She keeps telling me “Please take care of your diet”. She said that because she knows how awful my diet these last few months. So I decided to check whether I was that bad 🙄
I tracked back my diet from Dec 2016 to Dec 2017. The assessment based on these criteria:
“NO” Food: food that I shouldn’t eat, such as non-organic meats and eggs, dairy, soy products, sugary food, fried food, food that contains gluten (wheat, barley, bulgur, mir, rye, seitan), processed food, bad oils, spicy food, and coffee.
” ! ” Food: non-plants food that gives me no harms, such as organic eggs and salmons.
The last one year, I always thought that consuming whole-wheat products won’t give my body any bad effects because my doctor told me I can eat whole-wheat product in moderation. But finally, in my last period, I noticed how bloated I was after I ate a whole-wheat bread. I decided to try to eliminate wheat from my diet completely.
In this assessment, I included wheat as part of my NO food. And to be honest, I feel disappointed with my assessment results😞 You will understand why after you see these pictures…
As you can see, lots of NO-NOs there which relate to lots of pains 😓 What I’ve done? Why did I torture my self? 😭
I’m trying to do better this month…
Every day is a battle for me… but as I said, I might be crawling, but I will keep going!
