Because Adenomyosis is NOT Good Enough!

BenQ Medical Center, Nanjing, China
BenQ Medical Center, Nanjing, China

I went to BenQ hospital today. I haven’t got my uterus checked up for more than a year now. I totally forgot. I kept delaying to go to the hospital, waiting until I got no pain at all. And when that time came, I forgot about it because I had to catch up with the chores that I have left behind while I was in pain. The same cycle repeats until 16 months later, which is today.

I took a subway to go to the hospital. It was a sunny but a very cold day. Well, it’s winter, I couldn’t expect it was sunny and warm😬 Overall… pretty nice day.

The hospital was pretty quiet compares to the normal day. Today is Sunday and it’s Chinese New Year holiday.

I met a new gynecologist, surprisingly she speaks a little bit English. She sent me to get an ultrasound on the second floor. No queues at all at the gynecological sonogram room, the technician also checked my uterus thoroughly, no rush at all. Hospitals in China usually very busy, the checking process usually seems rushed, but not today.

After 10 minutes waiting, I got the result.

What a wonderful day for Ellie! Now I have Adenomyosis, fibroid, and chocolate cysts. Yep, because Adenomyosis is not good enough! A warrior needs more medical conditions, more pain to hold. Isn’t that right, God?

My current uterus size is 85x81x89mm, it’s bigger than my last scan in October 2016, which was 70x61x69mm. I kinda knew that my uterus grew bigger because all of my jeans didn’t fit anymore a few months ago, meanwhile, my weight is about the same. But I’ve never thought that I will have fibroid and chocolate cysts. My last ovaries reading was normal. Well.. not anymore…

My gynecologist told me to take a  blood test so they can check something related to the cysts and the risk for ovarian cancer. I will get the result in two days.

I felt sad after receiving that bad news. I walked towards a waiting room where not many people around. I cried.

Not long after that my husband called, he asked me how’s the result? I delivered the bad news while crying. I could hear his voice breaking. He asked me whether I want him to pick me up at the hospital. I said no, I want to take a walk for quite awhile on the way home.

Well, it’s a sad day for Ellie today. I don’t feel angry to God anymore. I just feel sad and tired…

January PD2 – It’s Snowing in Nanjing

It’s snowing in Nanjing! Yay! 😍

As a person who was born and raised in a tropical country, snowy day is something that I always cherish. I usually will go out and walk around my neighborhood and play with snow. In fact, that’s what I did this early January when we had our first snow in Nanjing. But today, I will stay at home because I’m on my period 😬

Today is our third snowy day of this month. It’s not too common in Nanjing to have more than one snowy day. Last year we only have one snowy day, and it was a thin snow. The year before that also the same. But this year we have more snow and it’s heavy. Schools are closed today, some government offices, even some restaurants are closed! Is global warming causes this cold weather? I do think so 😣

Enough about snow, let’s talk about period 😜

Today is day 3 of my cycle, normally I will be in pain (at least level 3/10) 😅 But guess what? I feel almost no pain today! Yay! This morning I only feel slight rectum discomfort (0.5/10), slight lower back discomfort (0.5/10) and slight lower abdomen discomfort (0.5/10) after I went number 2. I took 1 each of diclofenac+pantoprazole this morning because I was afraid of the pain after I went number 2 (which I usually have!). It’s amazing how little pain I have today😱

Day 1 was the worst pain I have so far for this cycle, and it was level 3-4/10 and last for about 8 hours. On my last cycle, the worst pain was on day 2 with the highest pain level of 4-5/10, I don’t remember how long it was last.

I think the significant pain relief is because of Serrapeptase enzyme that my doctor prescribed me to take since Nov 22, 2017, and also I do better on my Endo diet since early January 2018.

Before I took the Serrapeptase enzyme, my worst pain was on day 2 (Nov 7,2017) with the highest pain level of 7/10 for lower back pain and 4/10 for lower abdomen pain. After two months of Serrapeptase and proper Endo Diet, it’s down to level 3-4/10. And also my cycle has been lengthened from 23 days to 28 days this month! 😱😍

It’s amazing! Now I’m a believer!

I’ll talk more about my pain tracker these last few months and Serrapeptase enzyme in a different post. TTYL!😘

(Kinda) Endo Diet Recipe: Corn Fusili with Pesto Sauce and Stir Fried Zucchini & Cauliflower

Why does the post title include a “kinda” word? That’s because I used a bottled pesto sauce instead of freshly made and it contained cheese. And also, I use soy sauce instead of coconut aminos😬 Btw, I’m still on the same theme as yesterday, cooking for a lazy person! 😂

So today I made: Corn Fusilli with Pesto Sauce and Stir Fried Zucchini & Cauliflower. It’s easy and of course, it’s delicious!

The ingredients:

  • About 150gr of Corn Fusilli (I use it because that’s the only gluten-free pasta I have)
  • 1/3 bottle of Pesto sauce
  • Few florets of Cauliflower
  • 1/4 part of medium zucchini, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 or 1 tbsp of Mrs. Dash Chicken Grilling Blends
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic (use 1 if you don’t want it to be too garlicky), minced
  • 1 tbsp of low sodium light soy sauce
  • A pinch of salt to taste

How to cook:

  1. Boil water in a small pot for the fusilli, add a pinch of salt and a little bit of oil. When it’s boiling, add the fusilli and cook for 8 minutes or according to the direction in the packaging.
  2. Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in the pan over medium heat. After it’s hot, add the minced garlic and stir for about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the zucchini, stir for about 2 minutes.
  4. Add the cauliflower, stir it all together with the zucchini for 3 minutes or until it started to look soft.
  5. Add the Mrs. Dash chicken grilling blend, salt, and soy sauce. Stir evenly until all of the veggies cooked.
  6. When the fusilli is ready, strain, and then put the fusilli back into the pot. Add the pesto sauce, stir evenly. And put it on a plate.
  7. Top with the stir fried zucchini & cauliflower. Serve hot.

Give this recipe a try, and I hope you like it!😘

Endo Diet Recipe for a Lazy Person

Facts:

  • I have Adenomyosis – I have to follow Endo diet / anti-inflammatory diet
  • I’m not a big fan of salad
  • I’m a lazy person, I don’t want to cook complicated food every time I want to eat
  • I don’t like to eat the same food all day (breakfast !== lunch !== dinner)

How to solve this problem?

  1. I checked my fridge, grabbed 4 pcs of long beans, cut 1/5 of a medium cabbage, 3 pcs of mushrooms, 2 cloves of garlic (it’s a must for me! I’m a garlic person!😆)
  2. Grab a bottle of coconut aminos, Mrs. Dash spices mix, salt, and olive oil
  3. Wash and cut the veggies, mushrooms, and garlic
  4. Heat the olive oil in a pan, after the oil is hot add the mushrooms, stir-fried until it shrinks
  5. Add garlic, stir-fried for 30 seconds.
  6. Add 1/2 tbsp of Mrs. Dash spice mix, 1/2 tbsp of coconut aminos, a pinch of salt, stir for 1 minute or so.
  7. Add veggies, stir until half cooked.
  8. Add 1 tbsp Mrs.Dash spice mix, 1 tbsp coconut aminos, and a pinch of salt (yes, I put on the spices twice, on the mushrooms and on the veggies separately🤓). Stir Fried until wilted. Serve hot with cooked rice of your choices!

Easy cooking, healthy, and fast. Perfect for a lazy person like me! 😜😜😜
